When is the right time to call in a VA to support you in your business?
As a VA, I could not tell you the amount of times that I meet with potential new clients and, as soon as I ask how I can support them, they have a mind blank! All too often I hear: “I don’t know where to start…!” or things like “I have so much to do, but I’m not sure where to begin?!” This, for me, makes me think that they have waited too long to call in support. Yes, they’ve acknowledged that they need some VA assistance but, perhaps, if they’d made the call six months earlier, then they might not be suffering from the dreaded feeling of overwhelm or ‘the noise’, as I like to call it.
Here are 5 moments that you may notice when it’s time to outsource and seek support from a Virtual Assistant:
If your ‘To Do’ list is growing but you don’t feel like you’re crossing things off.
When the list grows but feels never-ending, this leads to feelings of overwhelm. I would bet that a fair few of the jobs on that list could be outsourced. This would allow you more time to think creatively and grow your business. This is definitely a time to find a VA!
When you have repetitive tasks that you need doing every week / month.
If you have a process or a system in place for repetitive tasks that form part of the crux of your business but, by doing them yourself, you are slowing down the steps needed to move your business forward, then this is another time to think to yourself “hey, could someone else do this for me?!” The answer is, 99% of the time, “yes!”
When you’ve stopped moving forward in your business because of administrative tasks.
If admin is holding you back from making conversions / sales / steps forward in your business, then it’s time to take a look at what’s going on and outsource some tasks to a VA.
If you’re feeling bogged down.
You know that feeling? Your desk is never clear; you lie awake worrying about scheduling your blog content or tidying your Inbox. None of these things need worrying about – simply outsource and enjoy feeling freer!
You could do with a critical ear to bounce ideas off.
Let’s face it, running a business is an amazing, incredible thing, but, when you’re not sat in a busy office next to colleagues, some ideas get shelved because you haven’t had the opportunity for a critical ear to bounce things off. A VA can be this ear. By working with a VA that you trust over a period of time, this relationship naturally builds and you find that you have someone who is actively invested in your business, who you can trust.
Hopefully, those ideas have sparked a match and helped you to realise that help and support are closer than you thought. Remember: no man is an island!
